2 steps forward, 2 steps back for the NFL

In light of the recent revelations of the dangers of playing football and the code of slience over the life-altering results from inquiry may just be a industry make-or-break for the NFL.  Why has taken so long for the National Football League to understand that this has had severe and negitive impacts which it swept under the carpet until as of late.  Sooner or later, any news or information to anyone or any organization can surface by means of a leak and may in return provide you or that organization at risk of injury.  It has been a tough call for Commissioner Goodall to make, yet these measures will provide these players will a better quality of life after the game.  As a former player and one that worked his way through the ranks from his beginnings as a intern in the league, why did he nor anyone in the organization start corrective measures years ago?  The lasting impacts of the recent breaking news may seve the NFL a concusion that may alter the future existence of the game and that of professional football as we have know it.
