West Virginia and Maryland economic rankings widely differ

WV and its next door neighbor MD are the prime example of the rich and the poor.  Maryland ranked 1st place in the U.S. as the richest state and just over the border WV was ranked as the 2nd poorest state.  WV has for far too long over the last several years claimed that it was not hit hard by the recession yet never really recognized negitive earnings were here.  It also proves that its title as one of the most livable states was contrary to all the reports of 2-3 years ago although NBC News and others were quick to jump aboard that bandwagon and did not do enough preliminary homework to back uo those claims.
